Pitch Energy, Johnny & Terry Gray & Terry Chandler sponsor wheelchair donation
INDIANAPOLIS - The Darrell Gwynn Foundation, on behalf of Pitch Energy, Johnny & Terry Gray and Terry Chandler, donated a $43,000 custom power wheelchair to four year-old Aiden Brown of Noblesville, Indiana during the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at the Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind. on Sunday, September 1. The Darrell Gwynn Foundation’s mission is to provide SUPPORT for people with paralysis sand PREVENT spinal cord injuries.
Aiden sustained a spinal cord injury at 14 months old during a car accident when the driver was driving under the influence and he was not placed in a car seat. Aiden has since been adopted by a wonderful family who cares for all of his medical needs. He is ventilator dependent, has a seizure disorder, and recently suffered a stroke. Aiden has no movement below his head and was unable to propel a manual wheelchair. He is dependent on an adult caretaker for all activities and mobility.
The custom power wheelchair donation with a chin joystick will give Aiden the gift of mobility he deserves. The wheelchair donation is was made to honor the Gray family’s father, the late John R. Gray. Pitch Energy and donors Johnny & Terry Gray and Terry Chandler have teamed up with the Darrell Gwynn Foundation this season to donate power wheelchairs to children in need.
