SUNRISE, Fla. – Sawgrass Ford is doing its part to help a child in need this holiday season. The dealership rolled out its “You Buy a Ride, They Get a Ride” promotion with a donation of $100 for every vehicle purchased or leased in December to the Darrell Gwynn Foundation to supports its Wheelchair Donation Program. The Darrell Gwynn Foundation’s mission is to provide SUPPORT for people with paralysis and PREVENT spinal cord injuries
“If we can reach our goal and purchase one motorized wheelchair, we will have made a huge difference in someone’s life, says Sawgrass Ford president David Menten. “December seems life a perfect month to do it.”
“This is an amazing gesture by David Menten and Sawgrass Ford to help us help a child in need this holiday season,” said president of the Darrell Gwynn Foundation, Darrell Gwynn. “It’s great to see this kind of community involvement by a wonderful community business like Sawgrass Ford. I encourage everyone who needs a new ride to visit Sawgrass Ford to see their incredible selection of 2013 Ford’s and help a child in need get the new ride they desperately need, a new power wheelchair giving them the gifts of mobility, freedom and independence.”
Sawgrass Ford located in Sunrise, Fla. is your local Ford Dealer when it comes to the purchase or lease of a New Ford or Used Vehicle in Florida and the surrounding area. Sawgrass Ford and the Darrell Gwynn Foundation hope to raise enough money through this promotion in December to donate a power wheelchair to an individual in the South Florida community. The average cost of a power wheelchair is $25,000 and often health insurance and Medicaid will not provide them for individuals in need. The Darrell Gwynn Foundation operates a national Wheelchair Donation Program, which donates custom power wheelchairs to individuals facing medical and financial hardships whom have exhausted all other means of obtaining the power wheelchair they need. These power wheelchair donations give individuals living with spinal cord injuries or an affliction that causes paralysis and their families the gifts of mobility, freedom and independence allowing children to go back to school, be more self-sufficient and live happier, more fulfilling lives.
If enough funds are raised in December, a wheelchair donation presentation to an individual in need will take place at Sawgrass Ford on behalf of Sawgrass Ford and its commitment to the community.
