The Barrett-Jackson family and its patrons have been extraordinary benefactors of the Darrell Gwynn Foundation for many years. Barrett-Jackson’s Collector Car Events and Auctions have significantly contributed to the Foundation’s growth, raising both its profile and funding for the mission to Provide Awareness, Prevention, Support and Ultimately a Cure for Paralysis.
Support from Barrett-Jackson has helped raise more than $700,000 for the Foundation through the auctioning of the 20th Anniversary Coors Gold dragster replica. With the Las Vegas auction approaching, there is potential the proceeds will reach the $1 million mark. Among many others, Barrett-Jackson also oversaw the sale of NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty’s re-created Superbird and Tony Stewart’s #20 Home Deport Sprint Cup car, which together raised $966,000.
As a result of the money raised, custom motorized wheelchairs are presented at each Barrett-Jackson event by the Darrell Gwynn Foundation to deserving individuals who would otherwise not be able to afford them. Past recipients have included but are not limited to Lewis Taylor, Hobal Grajeda and Mason Partee.
“The Barrett-Jackson family and its customers are devoted to the Foundation’s Wheelchair Donation Program. It means a lot to them,” Darrell notes. “We extend thanks for all that Barrett-Jackson does and encourage our friends to support them in turn.”
The Las Vegas Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is being held Sept 22-25. If you can’t be there in person, you can still join the team and support the cause. Take a moment to make a donation and help create a better life for our Las Vegas wheelchair recipients.
