DGF to Give Young Boy New Set of Wheels at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Collector Car Auction

September 22nd, 2010

Nine-year-old Las Vegas resident Axel Maldonado is afflicted with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a terminal degenerative muscular disease. He desperately needs a motorized wheelchair so he can move around on his own, but his parents have no medical insurance and cannot afford to purchase one. The Darrell Gwynn Foundation is stepping up and will give Axel a custom, motorized chair, and with it, the gift of independent mobility.

The wheelchair will be presented to Axel by Darrell on stage at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Collector Car Auction Saturday, Sept. 25, during the auction of two special cars to raise money for DGF’s mission to Provide Awareness, Prevention, Support and Ultimately a Cure for Paralysis. We encourage you to make a donation in Axel’s name to support the Foundation’s outreach to Axel and others like him. Please go the following link to help: DONATE NOW

To date, The Darrell Gwynn Foundation has provided nearly $1 million in custom wheelchairs to deserving individuals. Your contribution will ensure our Wheelchair Donation program is able to help those in need.

Watch SPEED TV between 7-10 p.m. EDT to see how your donation provides children and young adults with their very own “new sets of wheels!” Donations for Wheelchair Recipients
